ECHA: 6 new SVHC substances added to candidate substances

ECHA added five new substances to the list of candidate substances due to their dangerousness.

The decision to include the four polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) was taken with the involvement of the Member State Committee (MSC). Another substance has been added to the list having been identified as SVHC by the European Commission because of its endocrine disrupting properties.

The included substances are:

  • 2,2-bis (4'-hydroxyphenyl) -4-methylpentan 401-720-1 6807-17-6 Toxic to reproduction
  • Benzo [k] fluoranthene 205-916-6 207-08-9 Carcinogenic, PBT, vPvB
  • fluoranthene 205-912-4 206-44-0 PBT, vPvB
  • phenanthrene 201-581-5 08/01/85 vPvB
  • pyrene 204-927-3 129-00-0 PBT, vPvB
  • 1,7,7-trimethyl-3- (phenylmethylene) bicycle [2.2.1] heptan-2-one 239-139-9 15087-24-8 Endocrine interference properties
