REACH: AUTHORISATIONS GRANTED FOR USES OF THREE SUBSTANCES

The European Commission has granted authorisations for three uses of the following substances:

• Arsenic acid: (EC 231-901-9, CAS 7778-39-4; Circuit Foil Luxembourg SARL) - Industrial use of arsenic acid for the treatment of copper foil used in the manufacture of Printed Circuit Board
Review period expiration date: 22 august 2024;

• Bis(2-methoxyethyl) ether (EC 203-924-4, CAS 111-96-6; N.V. Ajinomoto OmniChem S.A.)- Use of Bis(2-methoxyethyl) ether as a solvent for the synthesis of the anti-HIV active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) dapivirine.
Review period expiration date: 12 june 2026;

• Sodium dichromate (EC 234-190-3, CAS 10588-01-9;H&R Ölwerke Schindler GmbH; H&R Chemisch-Pharmazeutische Spezialitäten GmbH) - Use of sodium dichromate as corrosion inhibitor in ammonia absorption deep cooling systems, applied for the dewaxing and deoiling process steps of petroleum raffinate.
• Review period expiration date: 12 june 2031;
