ECHA: pilot project of the ECHA Forum on substances in articles

The pilot project concerns the substances contained in articles.

15 Member States participated, 405 companies were inspected and 682 articles were checked.

Inspection objects are consumer items such as plastic and rubber items, electronic products, clothing and footwear.

12% of the articles contained substances in the Candidate List in concentrations> = 0.1% w / w.

The most found substances are:

  • Phthalates
  • Short-chain chlorinated paraffins
  • azodicarbonamide
  • Lead
