ECHA: REACH restrictions from 2020

REACH restrictions that apply from 2020:

  • BPA: They cannot be placed on the market in thermal paper in a concentration equal to or greater than 0.02% by weight after January 2, 2020.
  • D4, D5: Cannot be placed on the market in washable cosmetic products in a concentration equal to or greater than 0.1% by weight of both substances, after 31 January 2020. "Washing cosmetic products" means cosmetic products which , under normal conditions of use, they are washed off with water after application.
  • 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) May not be placed on the market as a substance alone or in a mixture in a concentration equal to or greater than 0.3% after 9 May 2020, unless the manufacturers, importers and users downstream do not include in the relevant chemical safety reports and SDSs, DNELs relating to worker exposure of 14.4 mg / m3 for inhalation exposure and 4.8 mg / kg / day for skin exposure and do not adopt the appropriate management measures risks and do not provide the appropriate operating conditions to ensure that worker exposure is lower than the DNELs shown above. It will apply from 9 May 2024 in connection with the placing on the market for use as a solvent or reagent in the wire coating process.
