ECHA: Exposure Limit Values

On the ECHA website, two calls have been opened to make observations and present evidence to collect scientific information on the uses, exposure, health effects, toxicology, epidemiology and mode of action of some substances.

CADMIUM and its inorganic compounds

It aims to collect any new scientific information following the 2017 SCOEL scientific assessments to assess the possibility of modifying the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive to include provisions relating to the combination of a professional exposure limit in the air and a biological limit value . It should be remembered that this possibility was envisaged by Directive (EU) 2019/983 (3rd revision of the CMD), which also introduced an occupational exposure limit value for 8 hours equal to 0.001 mg / m3 (0.004 mg / m3 up to 11.07.2027) for these substances;

ASBESTOS

It aims to collect scientific assessments on the application of the limit value currently established by Directive 2009/148 / EC (implemented in Italy in Legislative Decree 81/08, Title IX, Chapter III) to assess its appropriateness and possibly see him again.

The two calls for comments and evidences will close on Tuesday 2 June 2020.
