ECHA: New substances proposed as SVHC and candidates for authorization: open public consultations

Until April 17, it will be possible to participate in the public consultation on the possibility of classifying 5 substances as SVHC.

• 1-vinylimidazole (EC: 214-012-0; CAS: 1072-63-5) Registration includes only uses in formulation and industrial processes (paints, paints, lacquers, surface treatments, cleaning agents, detergents), as an intermediate and as a monomer for the production of polymers. Professional or consumer uses are not indicated.
• 2-methylimidazole (EC: 211-765-7; CAS: 693-98-1) Used as a catalyst, starting material, intermediate chemical or component in the manufacture of pharmaceutical, photographic and photothermographic products, dyes and pigments, agricultural chemicals and rubber. Furthermore, it is used as a polymerization crosslinking accelerator and for epoxy resin systems for semiconductor impregnation compounds and solder masks, as well as as a component of numerous polymers. It is also used as a dyeing aid for acrylic fibers and plastic foams.
• Butyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (EC: 202-318-7; CAS: 94-26-8) Used in cosmetics, personal care products and pharmaceuticals, the substance is used as a heat / pressure transfer fluid in closed systems .
• Resorcinol (EC: 203-585-2; CAS: 108-46-3) Used as an intermediate for the production of UV stabilizers, flame retardants, agricultural chemicals, industrial dyes. Used in the production of rubber compounds, cosmetics, as an adhesive for wood, in the production of resins.
• Dibutylbis (pentane-2,4-dionate-O, O ') tin (EC: 245-152-0; CAS: 22673-19-4) Used as a biocide to prevent microbiological activity in various sectors, as an additive in plastic materials, as stabilizers in polymers, as a catalyst and stabilizer in plastic, rubber, inks, paints, metallic glitter and heat transfer material.

• Benzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid 1,2-anhydride (trimellitic anhydride, TMA) EC: 209-008-0; CAS: 552-30-7
