CLP: Aerosol generators

On December 18th 2017 the D.M. Economic development that has implemented Directive 2016/2037/EU regarding the maximum admissible pressure of aerosol generators and adapts the provisions concerning labeling to the CLP Regulation.

At 50 ° C the pressure in the aerosol generator must not exceed the indicated values:

  • Liquefied gas or gas mixture with a flammable range with air at 20 ° C and at a normal pressure of 1.013 bar: 12 bar
  • Liquefied gas or mixture of gases not having a flammable range with air at 20 ° C and at a normal pressure of 1.013 bar: 13.2 bar
  • Compressed gases or gases dissolved under pressure not having a flammable range with air at 20 ° C and at a normal pressure of 1.013 bar: 15 bar

Labeling:

Without prejudice to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, the following indications must be affixed to each aerosol generator in a visible, legible and indelible manner:

  • when the aerosol is classified as "non-flammable", the warning "Caution" and the other elements of the aerosol category 3 label (table 2.3.1 CLP)
  • when the aerosol is classified as "flammable", the "Warning" warning and other elements of the aerosol category 2 label (Table 2.3.1 CLP)
  • when the aerosol is classified as "extremely flammable" the "Danger" warning and other elements of the aerosol category 1 label (Table 2.3.1 CLP)
  • if aerosol is a consumer product, the precautionary advice P102 (table 6.1 CLP)
  • further precautions for use that inform consumers of the specific hazards of the product
