ECHA: Updated intention to limit some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)

The Netherlands, in collaboration with ECHA, have updated their intention to limit the placing on the market of plastic, rubber and other granules containing PAHs. The intention covers uses such as material used for synthetic turf fields or loose granules or for mulch for sports applications.

The motivation is that the granules as filling material are identified as mixtures. PAHs are carcinogens and therefore the limits for these applications must be lowered.
