Chemicals compliance
ECHA has opened a public consultation on the possibility of including 18 substances in the list of substances under authorization according to the REACH Regulation. Comments must be submitted by December 5, 2018.
In parallel to the ECHA public consultation, the European Commission requests information on the possible socio-economic consequences of including these 18 substances in the list of permits. The information received will be transmitted directly to the Commission and will not be examined by ECHA.
If a substance is included in the list of authorizations, it can be placed on the market or used after a certain date only if an authorization for a specific use is granted. Companies that use, manufacture or import these substances may request an authorization.
The Member State Committee will draw up an opinion on the draft ECHA recommendation taking into account the comments received during the public consultation. Based on the committee's opinion and public consultation, ECHA will provide its final recommendation to the European Commission. The Commission will decide which of the substances to include in the list of authorizations and the respective conditions applicable to each substance.
