Chemicals compliance
ECHA allocated 32515 files of the 33363 dossiers submitted by the last deadline of 31 May 2018.
The remaining dossiers were presented incomplete or with incorrect information.
10708 substances were registered.
ECHA advises companies to keep their registration dossiers up-to-date.
The registration dossiers once submitted, according to the Art. 22 of the Regulations must be updated "without undue delay". This wording leaves the declarant free to interpret. A major concern, emerged during the second Conference for the revision of the REACH Regulation, is given precisely by the fact that companies may not keep their files up-to-date and that this could jeopardize the work performed.
A proposal to keep the registration dossiers updated is to increase the controls of the submitted dossiers and to introduce more precise time-keeping obligations. (we talk about an update of the dossier every 2.3 or 5 years)
