END OF WASTE

The term "end of waste" refers to a recovery process carried out on a waste, after which the waste loses that status to become a product.
To achieve this result, precise conditions defined by the legislation must be met.

  • the production residue that has been recovered must be used for specific purposes;
  • there must be a market or a demand for this product;
  • the recovered waste must meet certain technical requirements for the specific purpose for which it is intended and comply with the existing legislation and standards applicable to the products;
  • the use of the product must not lead to negative impacts on the environment or on human health.
