CEPRA offers consulting and analysis services for the introduction of detergent products on the market pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 648\/2004.<\/p>\n
The Regulation provides information on the placing on the market of detergents and surfactants for detergents.<\/p>\n
“Detergent” means any substance or mixture containing soaps and \/ or other surfactants intended for washing and cleaning activities.<\/p>\n
Detergents can be in any form (liquid, powder, pasta, bars, breads, molded pieces and subjects, etc.) and can be sold and used at a domestic, institutional or industrial level.<\/p>\n
“Surfactant” means any organic substance and \/ or mixture used in detergents with surfactant properties.<\/p>\n
To be placed on the market, detergents must meet certain characteristics:<\/p>\n
1) Surfactants must meet the “complete aerobic biodegradation” criteria of Annex III, if they do not meet these criteria they must meet the “primary biodegradability” of Annex II.<\/p>\n
2) Detergents must comply with the limitations on the content of phosphates and other phosphorus compounds as set out in Annex VIbis.<\/p>\n
3) Manufacturers must keep available:<\/p>\n
Information on one or more results of the tests referred to in Annex III<\/p>\n
For surfactants that have not passed the tests listed in Annex III and for which a derogation has been presented: a technical dossier on the results of the tests as set out in Annexes II and IV<\/p>\n
A technical data sheet with a list of all the ingredients as set out in Annex VIIC<\/p>\n
