The competent authorities responsible for cosmetic products sold in France are the\u00a0Agence nationale de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du m\u00e9dicament et des produits de sant\u00e9 (ANSM)<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0Direction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la r\u00e9pression des fraudes (DG CCRF)<\/em>. These authorities verify compliance with regulatory requirements through in-market control activities.<\/p>\n Language requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0all information on the labels of cosmetics sold in France must be translated into\u00a0French<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Concerning documentation kept by the responsible person (PIF, CPSR.<\/strong>.), it must preferably be in\u00a0French<\/strong>, but documentation in\u00a0English<\/strong>\u00a0is also considered acceptable. \nNotifications:<\/strong>\u00a0All establishments based in France that produce or distribute cosmetic products must register on the\u00a0ANSM online portal<\/strong>. Importers are not subject to the establishment declaration.
\nHowever, French manufacturers, importers and distributors of cosmetic products containing\u00a0nanomaterials<\/strong>\u00a0are required to make an annual declaration to the\u00a0R-Nano register<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
\n– cosmetic products requiring a\u00a0challenge test<\/strong>\u00a0may only be sold in bulk through an\u00a0assisted service.<\/strong>
\n– The\u00a0packaging\u00a0<\/strong>of cosmetic products (as well as all other products) must be appropriately labelled with the\u00a0Triman logo.<\/strong>
