ECHA: the authorization to use sodium dichromate in the form of a molten bath to modify surfaces was refused

The use of sodium dichromate (CAS number 7789-12-0) as a molten bath to modify surfaces, in particular by burnishing, of delicate medical products, in particular microsurgical instruments, was refused.

The request did not contain the necessary elements referred to in Article 62 (4) (d) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.
