Regulation 1691/2019

It has been published on the Official Journal of the EU the Regulation1691/2019, amending Annex V to the REACH (Reg. 1907/2006).

Annex V lists the substances exempt from the obligation to register according with Article 2 (7) (b).

This is modified with the addition, at point 12, of the digestate, ie a product obtained from non-dangerous biodegradable materials through a biological process of which the last step is anaerobic digestion.

It has been established that the products thus obtained, like the compost and biogas, do not require registration, therefore Annex V, point 12, of the REACH Regulation is amended as follows:

'12. Compost, biogas and digestate '.
