REACH: Regulation n. 2020/171 insertion of 11 substances in annex XIV REACH

The latest update of Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation has been published. 11 substances have been added to the list of substances subject to authorization.

These substances cannot be placed on the market, or used, unless an authorization has been granted for a specific use.

The substances are:

• 1,2-benzendicarboxylic acid, diesil ester, branched and linear CAS: 68515-50-4
• Hexyl phthalate CAS: 84-75-3
• 1,2-benzendicarboxylic acid, di-C6-10 alkyl esters; 1,2-benzendicarboxylic acid, mixed decyl and hexyl and octyl diesters with a concentration ≥ 0.3% of diethyl phthalate CAS 68515-51-5; 68648-93-1
• Thrixylyl phosphate CAS: 25155-23-1
• Sodium perborate; perboric acid, sodium salt;
• Sodium peroxometaborate; CAS: 7632-04-4
• 5-sec-butyl-2- (2,4-dimethylcyclohex-3-en-1-yl) -5- methyl-1,3-dioxane [1], 5-sec-butyl-2- (4,6- dimetilcicloes-3-en-1-yl) -5-methyl-1,3-dioxane;

By 1 September 2021, the application for authorization must be submitted for the substances mentioned above for the use of the substance in the production of spare parts as articles or complex products for the repair of articles.

• 2- (2H-benzotriazol-2-yl) -4,6-diterzpentylphenol (UV-328) CAS: 25973-55-1
• 2,4-di-tert-butyl-6- (5-chlorobenzotriazol-2-yl) phenol (UV-327) CAS: 3864-99-1
• 2- (2H-benzotriazol-2-yl) -4- (tert-butyl) -6- (secbutyl) phenol (UV-350) CAS: 36437-37-3
• 2-benzotriazol-2-il-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol (UV-320) CAS: 3846-71-7

For each listed substance the "expiry date" was indicated, which runs from February to November 2023: starting from that date the substance can be placed on the market or used only if an authorization has been granted or if a application for authorization by the deadline set for this purpose.
