SECOND CORRIGENDA TO THE CMR OMNIBUS II

A second Corrigenda to the CMR Omnibus II (Reg. 2019/1966) has been published by the Official Journal, that modifies and corrects Annexes II, III and V of Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009. che modifica e corregge gli Allegati II, III e V del Regolamento cosmetici 1223/2009.

The scope of this corrigenda is to correct the conditions of use for the Entry Salicylic acid in Annex III (entry 98)

According to the provisions indicated in the corrigenda, the use of this substance is allowed at maximum concentrations equal to:

3.0% in rinsing products;

2.0% in all other products except for body lotion, eye shadows, mascara, eye-liner and roll-on deodorants.

The ingredient should not be used:

-in products intended for children under 3 years of age;

- in applications that may involve exposure of the lungs of the end user by inhalation;

- in products for the oral cavity.

These restrictions are intended for use of the ingredient other than inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in the finished product.
