Important news about some cosmetic ingredients

At the meeting of the EU WG on Cosmetics on 25 June 2020, three important innovations were approved for cosmetic ingredients:

1- A new UV filter has been authorized - methoxypropylamino cyclohexenylidene ethoxyethylcyanoacetate, up to the maximum concentration of 3%;

2- Inclusion in annex II of 3 hair dyes (1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene, 2 ((4-amino-2-nitrophenyl) amino) -benzoic acid and 4-amino-3-hydroxytoluene) and discipline in annex III of the maximum concentration of 6 hair dyes and one eyelash dye for professional use only, according to the respective SCCS opinions.

3- Inclusion in Annex III of the HEMA / Di-HEMA THDC substances used in nail products with the obligation to report on the label "for professional use only and can cause allergic reactions"

The adoption of the new amendments to the Regulations is scheduled for October 2020.
