COSMETICS REGULATION UPDATE: REGULATION 2024/996 PUBLISHED

On 3 April 2024, Regulation 2024/996 amending Annexes II, III, V and VI of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 was published.

Below is the list of the amendments:

Annex II (prohibited substances): the substance 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor (CAS: 36861-47-9/38102-62-4) is added to Annex II.

The ban applies from:

– 1 May 2025 for new products;
– 1 May 2026 for products already placed on the market.
