28, Nov, 2022 | Sector Chemical Compliance

The MASE (Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security) published Decree No. 360 of 28 September 2022, which officially adopts the ‘Guidelines on the labelling of packaging pursuant to Art. 219, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 152 of 3 April 2006’.

Annex I of the decree thus contains, in Italian and English, the official guidelines for fulfilling environmental labelling obligations for packaging that will come into force on 1 January 2023.

The new rules will apply to all packaging, with the exclusion of packaging for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as explained in the environmental notice issued by the Ministry.

It is recalled that packaging without the labelling requirements already placed on the market or provided with labelling on 1 January 2023 can be marketed until stocks are exhausted.
