Regulation 542/2017 is Annex VIII of the CLP Regulation 1272/2008.

NEWS:

  4. The obligation to notify in ≥ 1% concentrations also the components of the mixture classified as non-hazardous
  5. In the case of mixtures placed on the market for exclusively industrial uses, a simplified notification can be chosen provided that a telephone number and an e-mail address are available that allow rapid access to product information.

DEADLINES:

  • For products for industrial use it will be mandatory to notify the ECHA SUBMISSION PORTAL from 1 January 2024, on a voluntary basis this can already be done.

It is not necessary to re-notify mixtures that have already been notified under national schemes as the notification remains valid until 1 January 2025, unless an update is necessary.

HARMONIZED PRODUCT CATEGORIZATION SYSTEM (PCS)

The European product categorization system (EuPCS) is used to describe “the intended use of a mixture” for which a notification must be submitted.

Unique Formula Identifier (UFI)

The UFI is a unique alphanumeric code that unequivocally links a product placed on the market and the information available for patient treatment in the event of poisoning.

The UFI must be affixed to the label of the mixture.

The word UFI must precede the number on the label.
